MOUNTAIN TALES FILM FESTIVAL

We proudly present to you the finalists in the Mountain Tales Film Festival; and we kindly ask for you,  our audience, to let your voice be heard and vote for which short films you feel have the strongest story to tell or which you connect to. 

The voting will continue until the final film is shown on the night of the festival and we encourage you to send in your votes and show your love and support for our incredible filmmakers.

KNEE HIGH

Set against the Iowa farmlands, KNEE HIGH follows Calvin Melbourne as he struggles to keep hold of the reins to the family farm while still making time for his young son, Avery.

THE SPIRIT SEAM

The Spirit Seam is a short animated film about a little girl, Pollywog, and her Pap-Paw. Located in an Appalachain coal-mining town in the 1950s, the film takes the audience through the daily life of both characters.

SEA-TECTIVES

dir. Christopher Dobbs, 2017

Sea-Tectives (2017) is a ten and a half minute animated short film about a duo of deep sea detectives in an underwater city. Fish are vanishing throughout the city and it is up to Charlemagne Clawes (a lobster) and Orville Sinclair (a clam) to save the day. This case, however, is more than what it seems and the duo will also be faced with the effect their growing fame has upon their friendship.

A night with friends playing Cards Against Humanity turns into paranoia, as Camille avoids consuming calories and keeping her secret aversion to food, to herself. Her nightmare becomes reality when pizza is ordered and everyone is excited to eat but her.

After the death of their young daughter, all that remains in Rebecca and Allen’s home is an extensive toy collection and profound grief. Both are attempting to process their loss: Rebecca chooses to repress her pain, while Allen regresses to their child's age in order to replace her.
